Each Memorial Day Americans rightfully take the time to reflect on those who have fallen and made the ultimate sacrifice. . .

Memorial Day has its roots in the Civil War.  A year after the bloody conflict was finally over in 1866 a pharmacist from Waterloo, NY organized the first Memorial Day as a day of remembrance. . .he of course wanted to ensure that  future generations would not forget those 620,000 Americans that died in the war and the horror of war itself.

Waterloo, NY became officially recognized and designated as the 1st community in the United States to honor our military fallen by President Lyndon Johnson in 1968.
